Mark Wenden

I have been drumming for 30 years and have plenty of experience in playing various styles, from rock, jazz, funk and some Latin. As well as teaching I play gigs with a few different local bands, and am involved with my own group playing original material.

I have been a regular attendee at the Freddigee Drum Academy hosted by Steve White, with other influential drummers such as Craig blundell, Gregg Bissonette and Drumsense founder Colin Woolway coming to teach on the course.

I really enjoy teaching the Drumsense programme as I think it gets the student started in the right way from the very first lesson by giving them a sense of achievement from playing some basic grooves, and then progressing with each lesson there after in a fun and informative way.


I teach students of different age groups, who are mainly beginners to intermediate. Lessons can take place at my home, or as I am based in West Wales, and it being a rural area, arrangements can be made for me to travel to the student's home. I also teach in Aberystwyth once a fortnight on a Saturday.
