Yeah, I was a Pinstripe guy for a while. These days they don't appeal to me very much.

I think it's off to the drum shop today to pick up a couple types of Aquarian heads to dabble with!

I agree! I began using Aquarian heads a couple of years ago, and I really like what they have to offer.

On the Performance II heads - are you using clear or coated?

Try this. . . Aquarian Super Kick II on the batter side. Aquarian Regulator (with the small port) on the reso side. Tune the batter side just past the wrinkle stage. Tune the reso side just a tad tighter than that. I think you'll like the results. No tape, no laundry inside the drum, no muss, no fus...

The DW 5000 is a great pedal. Solid, quiet, very adjustable.

Another very adjustable pedal - though it may be a bit pricey - is the Trick Pro 1-V. VERY solid construction (the main parts are milled from solid aluminum), and the adjustment capabilities are amazing.
