Re: New member with some Qs - can anyone help?

Hi Johnny, Sorry, I missed your post until now, although it's great that you got replies from tutors themselves, rather from me at Drumsense HQ! I would agree with the comments so far, in particular the suggestion to de-risk your plan and start by teaching around your FT job. Times are generally qui...

Re: How do I redeem my tutor discount when purchasing from the s

Hi - if you mean the drumsense.com store, you don't. If you let us know what you want by email, we will place an order for you at the tutor rate.

Re: setting up and tearing down

Good idea Jason - we can all learn something new from stuff like this. What you need to do though is get YOU behind the camera, and some poor other guy setting up your kit for you ;)

Re: Drum Mics & Mixing Desk

I've got a small Behringer (12 channel I think) mixer which cost less than £50 which I use for this when I need full kit mics - works great, including phantom power for condenser overheads. I also bought a mic set from Thomann for about £100, although I have a good quality AKG kick mic. The Audix mi...

Re: Using Wav files on Roland TD9KX via a USB stick

Hi Geoff,

Managed to miss this first time around - did you get sorted? Whenever I play music through my Roland kit I just connect a stereo jack cable from my iPhone (i.e. iPod) to the Mix In socket on the back. Does the TD-9 not have the same input?

Nick.

Re: Rockschool or Trinity

A really good question, and one I have asked myself recently, as with the limited amount of teaching I do, I finally found a student who wants to do grades! I spoke to a few people, and ultimately decided that Trinity is the better way to go. I get the impression that they are more accepted as rigor...

Re: Soloing to a click?

Hi Dan, I definitely think that's one of those "it depends" questions. If you want a solo at tempo, and obviously a solo which included hits with other band members would be an example of this, then practising with a click is very beneficial. If you want more of a fluid solo with tempo cha...
