I have been playing drums for about 20 years starting at age 15, and have done touring, session work, and recording with many bands playing all kinds of different music. I feel that a well-rounded drummer is one that has the flexibility to play all different styles, as well as to maintain groove and feel which is the main component for playing all types of rhythm, and so for this reason I am a big proponent of the Drumsense program.

It provides a simple, yet solid approach to learning that gives a beginning drummer a foundation to build upon, and yet challenging enough for the experienced drummer to use as a tool for keeping their chops up.

Hmmm... I am an extreme metal drummer. I started playing drums in the late 90's growing up and listening to metal pretty much most of the time; most being underground music. I have gigged and toured extensively pretty much everywhere. I am currently the gig/tour/studio drummer for UK Thrash band Warpath. I am also an active session drummer for one off tracks or CD's. I've been featured in magazines such as Kerrang, Zero Tolerance, Metal Hammer, Alternative and many online sites. Warpath have just released their new album 'Damnation' which is on sale worldwide!

Colin Woolway has created a programme that is flawless and will get you off the ground in no time at all. I am still learning things I missed from when I first started playing. As my contribution to the programme I am one of the only tutors who are exclusively teaching metal drumming in conjunction with Colin's Teaching Programme. This involves alot of twin kick/double bass drumming with fast grooves and patterns and I am also teaching the Heel Toe Kick Drum Technique. I am teaching from Rob Wall's shop 'Drumbeat' in Newport, Wales – UK.

Anthony Chadwick

Hi, my name is Anthony (otherwise known as Chad) & I've been playing the drums for 25 years, since I was 16 years old. I have always had a love of music, being part of a large musical family. There are many musicians in my family including singers, guitarists & drummers.

I joined my 1st band playing on a leather chair for several weeks until I was able to buy my 1st kit with my 1st wage. During my time I have played in several bands covering many styles, including rock, pop, rock n roll, soul, swing & blues. I have gigged too many times to mention & I have also been in the recording studio, recording 3 albums.

Music has played a big part in my life & I would like this to be the case for others hence me going into teaching. I believe that people need interests/hobbies to help focus their mind & stay positive.

I teach on acoustic & electronic kits & hold lessons at my place or yours, its up to you. I supply 2nd hand kits to students in various packages at great prices, which include for sale & for hire (not compulsory).

Please feel free to contact me with no obligation, either through the telephone numbers listed or via email.

Take care

Ian Hayward

I started drumming when I was seven years old – much to the annoyance of my parents. Without any real drums at my disposal, I'd use my mother's knitting needles to bash the hell out of the arms of the sofa, while playing along to 'Top of the Pops'. I'm now forty two and, to be honest, not much has changed. I'm still driven by the dream of one day gracing a Jools Holland stage or embarking on a world tour somewhere hot. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I have a true passion for playing the drums. A seasoned player, I'm the stick man with my own band and regularly appear at venues in and around London. I've gained many years experience playing live as well as recording and session playing.

I think any budding musician should both know and love the instrument that they play. Drums, like all precision instruments, require thought and knowledge to gain the best from them. And to be very good at something takes a great deal of practice. Quite simply, the more you do it the better you get (students take note!!) Now that I have found the 'Drumsense' system, I want to combine it with my own knowledge, enthusiasm and passion – and pass it on.

"When I play the drums I feel wonderful. I call it 'The Zone!' Whether I am teaching, practicing, gigging or recording – The Zone is where I am. Fully focussed and enjoying every second."
(Ian Hayward)
Scott Richman

My name is Scott Richman, I have been playing drums since I was 8 years old, I'm now 32 (you do the math!) Since the age of 15 I have been in various bands playing styles from Grunge, Funk to Hip Hop before settling on Rock drumming. I currently play in two bands, one is called "INTERVURT" we play energetic melodic rock in the vein of The Killers and Muse. We have recent recorded an album at Electric Lady Studios in New York and signed to an Independent record label. We have also played numerous festivals, had our tracks played on Radio 1 and had our Videos play-listed on Sky. The other band is called "one2tall", we play contemporary classics to modern day floor fillers at weddings clubs and pubs.

Recently and very much by accident I found myself teaching, before I knew it I had eight students. After a few months of teaching I realised my lessons didn't really have a goal. Then I found out about Drumsense, a comprehensive and easy to teach course that would give my lessons (and my students) structure and direction.

My teaching style is very much to keep it fun and interesting, as well as following the programmw we will also make CD's in my recording studio to chart the students progression, and invite other musicians such as guitar and bass to "test" our ever progressing skills!

I started playing drums at the young age of twelve. I have studied pipe band snare drumming for two years after which, I attended the PMTC course in Newpark Music Centre. Since which I have continued studying and teaching. My studies have involved a broad spectrum of world music and good deal of jazz.

I have played with many bands. I started as most young lads would and was playing heavy music after a good deal of study and improvement I started playing all kinds of music. I've played every kind of gig from a Jazz Trio to a 25 piece "Funk Orchestra" But to date to tightest and well organised live band I played with have been "Harmonic Sound".

I've played the following list of bands – Gordiano. Salsa Brava, Alpha States, Global Funk Orchestra, Groove Ensemble, East Avenue Mission, Oblivion Junior and many more.

My first love is and will always be music.

I began playing and teaching drums full time nearly ten years ago. Having studied at Drumtech in London I continued to study privately with a number of world class players. As a performer I've played alongside acts such as Biffy Clyro, Bloc Party and Rival Schools and appeared on/in MTV, Kerrang! and Radio1.

I'm currently endorsed by Zildjian Cymbals and was sponsored by Element Skateboards (home to Bam Margera!!). I'm still as passionate and enthusiastic about the drums as I was when i started, maybe more so! I teach all levels from beginners to professional from a studio in the heart of Brighton.

I'm Rich and I've played the drums for as long as I can remember. My dad still has my first recorded performance aged 3 playing some cardboard boxes with my mum's wooden spoons, that was the start of my love affair.

I got my first kit at about 12 and immediately joined a local school band. I've been in many more since but I'm currently in a funk, disco originals and covers band, we're very busy and its great fun. We play at universities, clubs, festivals, weddings and corporate parties.
I've been fortunate enough to play and record in some top places such as Matrix studios in Soho and the Radio One Maida Vale studio in London.
I learnt under an excellent and versatile session drummer call Jim Macdonald, I've found this invaluable as it's focused my playing and improved my technique no end.

I've reached a point now where I'm good enough show others what I've learnt and hopefully pass on the passion for hitting things with sticks!
