Biography

I started playing drums after sitting in with a local band, never having played before, and then being offered the job!.......................I didn’t even have a drum set at the time.
That got me started. My dad helped with the finance of my first kit and I then enrolled with my first drum teacher. I practised like mad, and within a year I took my first professional job working on the Mecca circuit.

Sometime later I received a call from Guernsey asking if I would be interested in playing for a major cabaret show on the island, which I did. After returning to the UK I played with various bands ranging from trios to Big Bands and have backed many big name TV/cabaret stars while working on the Baileys nightclub circuit.

Now resident in Spain I play with various bands playing modern jazz, rock, and big band music.
I am also a registered “Drumsense” tutor.

Drumsense is an internationally acclaimed drum tuition programme based on books and play along material. It is an extremely well structured approach to playing the drums, and beginners can get started with no experience necessary.

All styles are taught including Rock, Jazz , and Rudiments. With a combination of grooves, fills, play along and reading exercises the sheer variety of the Drumsense programme is designed to maximise a student’s ability. And, at the same time ensuring that lessons remain interesting and enjoyable, the single most important learning ingredient!

Accredited grades are available should a student wish to take them, such as Rockschool or at a less formal level through the Drumsense programme itself.
